Safe Cribs Program
The Safe Cribs program at the Callaway County Health Department offers portable cribs and safe sleep education to eligible families. The goal of the program is to assist families and reduce the risk of sleep-related infant death, one of the leading causes of infant mortality. Parents and caregivers receive education on the safe sleep recommendations provided by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Safe Cribs for Missouri program, families must meet the following criteria:
The client is a Missouri resident who is 34 weeks gestation to six months postpartum.
The family does not have a crib and has no other resources for obtaining one.
The family agrees to participate in two individual safe sleep education sessions.
