Tuberculosis (TB) Testing
The health department offers tuberculosis (TB) testing for:
- Employment requirements
- School/clinic requirements
- Medical provider requests
- Other needs
Available Testing Options:
Tuberculin Skin Test (TST)
The Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) requires you to return within 48-72 hours for the reading of the results.
Note:
If results are not read within 72 hours, the test will be invalid and a new test will need to be administered after one week.
Callaway County Health Department does not offer TST testing on Thursday due to the reading requirement of 48 – 72 hours. Holidays may also affect availability.
QuantiFERON Gold TB Blood Test
This test requires no preparation. Blood work will be drawn and sent to the lab, and the results will be forwarded to your primary physician or employer.
